Home Protect360 explained: benefits, limits and the fine print

HL Assurance's tiered home contents plan covers contents, liability and alternative accommodation. Here is what the published material says, and what still needs checking.

Home Protect360 is HL Assurance's home contents plan, sold across three tiers, Silver, Gold and Platinum, that scale the cover limits up as you move up the range. This is a walk-through of what the insurer's own published material says the plan covers, based on the version retrieved from HL Assurance's site on 20 August 2026.

Plan type and who it is for

This is a home contents insurance product, meaning it covers what is inside your home rather than the structure of the building itself. It is written for HDB flats (including BTO units), condominiums and landed property, so the same product structure applies across housing types, with cover limits varying by tier rather than by property type.

What the published material says it covers

According to HL Assurance's own product page, the three tiers offer:

  • Household contents cover ranging from $100,000 to $300,000 depending on tier
  • Worldwide personal liability of $500,000
  • Alternative accommodation of $15,000 to $45,000, for up to 30 days, if your home becomes uninhabitable
  • Family personal accident cover of $35,000
  • Complimentary home concierge services, covering call-outs for an electrician, locksmith, plumber, pest control and aircon servicing

Beyond the headline benefits, the product page also lists a cap of $5,000 per article on valuables, lock and key replacement, and temporary storage cover for up to 30 days if you need to move contents out during repairs. HL Assurance advertises pricing starting from S$22.23 a month (excluding GST) for the Silver tier, according to the same page.

What is not fully spelled out on the product page

The product page is a marketing summary, not the governing contract, and several things a buyer would want to check are not detailed there: which specific perils trigger a contents claim (fire, theft, water damage and so on typically have different terms), what the excess is per claim, whether the personal liability cover is affected if you rent out part of your home, and exactly how the $5,000 per-article valuables cap interacts with the overall contents limit. These are the kind of details that sit in the policy wording rather than the summary page.

The documents that actually govern

HL Assurance's own material is explicit that where a figure on the product page and a figure in the policy documents disagree, the policy documents are the ones that apply. For Home Protect360, that means the Terms and Conditions document and the policy jacket referenced in the sources above, alongside a separate document on the insurer's annual loyalty bonus benefit, which appears to be a feature layered on top of the core plan rather than part of the base contents cover. Read these before treating any figure on the marketing page as final, and note that HL Assurance can revise pricing, limits and terms over time, so the current version on its site, not what is summarised here, is the one that applies to any policy you actually buy.

What to check before buying any home contents plan, not just this one

Regardless of which insurer you are considering, it is worth comparing a few things side by side: the total contents sum insured against a realistic estimate of what it would cost to replace everything in your home, whether the plan pays on a reinstatement (replacement cost) or indemnity (depreciated value) basis, what excess applies per claim type, and whether personal liability cover extends to incidents caused by household members and domestic helpers, not just the policyholder. These questions apply to any home contents plan you are comparing, not specifically to this one.

Talk to an advisor

Home Protect360's published tiers and limits are a useful starting point, but the policy wording is what actually governs a claim. An advisor on the portal can check the current terms against your household's specific contents value and liability exposure, or you can compare home insurance options at /compare/singapore/property.
