TravelEasy explained: benefits, limits and the fine print
MSIG's TravelEasy covers up to $1,000,000 in overseas medical expenses on its top Premier tier, with COVID-19 cover included on every plan. Here is what the four tiers actually differ on.
TravelEasy is MSIG's single-trip and annual multi-trip travel insurance, structured across four tiers β Lite, Standard, Elite and Premier β with coverage areas split into Southeast Asia, Asia-Pacific and worldwide zones. As with any tiered travel product, the tier you pick changes not just the price but which benefits actually apply, and it is worth understanding that before comparing the headline numbers against a competitor's plan.
What the plan covers
On its top Premier tier, TravelEasy covers overseas medical expenses up to $1,000,000 for adults below age 70, with emergency evacuation and repatriation also covered up to $1,000,000. Trip cancellation reaches up to $15,000 on the Premier tier, and baggage cover goes up to $7,500. Travel delay cover extends up to $1,500 for flight or baggage delays. COVID-19 cover is included across all four plan tiers, not restricted to the higher ones, which is a point of difference worth checking against other insurers when comparing plans, since some competitors reserve COVID-19 cover for mid-to-upper tiers only.
Adventure activities are covered on the Elite and Premier tiers, meaning travellers planning activities such as diving or trekking need at least the Elite tier rather than Lite or Standard, where these activities are excluded. The plan also includes a complimentary airport lounge pass at a large network of lounges globally, an eSIM offer, and the option to renew annual multi-trip cover up to age 80.
Where the tiers actually matter
The practical differences to check tier by tier are the overseas medical sub-limit, whether adventure activities are included, and the trip cancellation and baggage limits, since these scale meaningfully from Lite through to Premier. A traveller doing a short regional trip with no plans for adventure activities may be well served by Standard, while anyone travelling further afield, for longer, or planning to dive, ski or trek should check whether Elite or Premier is the tier that actually includes the activities and limits they need, rather than assuming a higher price automatically covers everything.
The coverage area zones also matter independently of the plan tier: a Southeast Asia-only zone selection will not extend to a worldwide trip regardless of which tier is chosen, so both the zone and the tier need to match your actual itinerary.
What governs if there is a discrepancy
These figures reflect MSIG's own published product page as retrieved in August 2026, and insurers periodically revise benefit tables and tier structures. Where the product page and the underlying policy documents disagree, the policy β TravelEasy's standard policy wording or the separate TravelEasy Flex policy wording, depending on which variant you buy β governs, not the marketing summary. MSIG has also published a separate brochure specifically for a pre-existing conditions variant of the plan, worth reading directly if a pre-existing condition is relevant to your trip, since this is not covered under the standard plan by default.
What to compare it against
Regardless of insurer, the questions worth asking of any travel plan are the same: does the medical limit match what treatment actually costs at your destination, is COVID-19 cover included or an add-on, does the plan's adventure activity cover match what you are actually planning to do, and does the coverage zone match your itinerary rather than a cheaper regional option that does not actually apply. TravelEasy's inclusion of COVID-19 cover across every tier, and its lounge pass and eSIM extras, are the features that differentiate it most clearly from a plan with a similar medical limit but a narrower base tier.

Talk to an advisor
Matching the right tier, zone and add-ons to a specific trip is easier with a second opinion, particularly if adventure activities or a pre-existing condition are part of the picture. A licensed advisor can check this against your itinerary. Find one through the portal's advisor matching, or ask our assistant about a specific benefit in the policy wording.
